Divisibility Rules

                        Divisibility Rules

Divisibility by 1
Every number is divisible by 1. It does not have any condition. Any number divided by 1 will give the number itself.
For example, 8 is divisible by 1 than answer will be 8 and 6789  is also divisible by 1 than answer will be 6789.

Divisibility by 2
If a number is even or a number whose last digit is an even number i.e.  2,4,6,8 including 0, it is always completely divisible by 2.
For example -   Let's take 216  it is an even number so it will be divisible by 2 completely. If we take 765 it is not an even number so it will not be divisible by 2.

Divisibilty by 3
Condition of Divisibility rule for 3 is a number is completely divisible by 3 if the sum of its digits is divisible by 3.
For example-  let's take a number 723 add the digits  7+2+3 = 12 , after adding the digits we will get 12 it is a multiple of 3 so the number 723 is divisible by 3 .
Let's take another number 562 add the digits 5+6+2 = 13, after adding the digits we will get 13 it is not a multiple of 3 so the number 562 is not divisible by 3 .

Divisibility by 4
If the last two digits of a number are divisible by 4, then that number is a multiple of 4 and is divisible by 4 completely.
For example- let's take an example 128 we will take last two digit i.e. 28 it is a multiple of 4 So the whole number 128 will be divisible by 4 .

Divisibility by 5
Numbers, which last with digits, 0 or 5 are always divisible by 5.
For example- let's take a number 5085  the last digit is 5 so it will divisible by 5 completely.
Let's take another number 260 the last digit is 0 So it will divisible by 5 completely.

Divisibility by 6
Numbers which are divisible by both 2 and 3 are divisible by 6. That is, if the last digit of the given number is even and the sum of its digits is a multiple of 3, then the given number is also a multiple of 6.
For example - let's take a number 504 it is an even number as the last digit is 6 and the sum of the digits is 5+0+4= 9 it will also divisible by 3 .  Hence 504 is divisible by 2 and 3 So it will also divisible by 6 .
